SHAXX-JBT Series

The SHAXX-JBT Series by Joseph Electronics represents a significant advancement in remote camera deployment technology, building upon the foundation of our flagship SHAXX-TOTE series. The SHAXX-JBT Series enables broadcast cameras fitted with Standard SMPTE 304M hybrid connectors to be deployed using ordinary single mode fibers. This allows for quick and simple facility installation with only fiber connections, no need to install any associated SMPTE copper wiring or to carry and store any additional external camera accessories during events. This SHAXX-JBT is specifically designed to seamlessly integrate into Joseph Electronics’ standard JBT enclosures, which are commonly deployed in indoor/outdoor stadiums, large venues, and college campuses.

The SHAXX-JBT is a versatile and compact remote camera solution. With its 2U rack height and a depth of 6” it offers a space-efficient design suitable for installations where space is limited. The recessed side power, fiber connections and its compatibility with various camera models add to its flexibility.

The SHAXX-JBT installation requires a local 120-240 volt mains supply to the JBT enclosure allowing cameras to be powered up to 300 meters from the units with standard SMPTE 311 Hybrid Cable. Fiber signals can then be extended from the SHAXX-JBT on two strands of single mode fiber utilizing the SHAXX-CCU-ST interface (sold separately) or direct CCU fiber-only adaptations, dependent upon camera type used.
This system allows users to replace the fiber and copper hybrid cable between the camera and the CCU with standard fiber and relay all communications and signals. This frees the camera from being tethered directly to the CCU via SMPTE 311 hybrid fiber cable.

All status LED indications are visible through the front panel and both the main power and camera power switches are also accessible to the user. Main power range selection, fusing, and fiber ST connections are all recessed and located on the right side of the enclosure for clean cabling installation.

The SHAXX-JBT is ideal for stadiums, arenas and concert halls that have preinstalled single mode fiber infrastructures or for future design installations.
