ShaxX-Tote Series

The SHAXX-TOTE series from Joseph Electronics has been designed to enable broadcast cameras fitted with Standard SMPTE 304M hybrid connectors to be deployed using ordinary single mode fiber.

The SHAXX-TOTE must be positioned near a 110-220 AC mains supply but can be positioned up to 300 meters from the camera (via SMPTE 311 HFO cable) and 20km from the CCU/ShaxX-CCU (via 2 strands of single mode fiber). This allows the camera to be powered from a remote mains supply. When combined with the Bluebell Opticom Shax-CCU-ST (sold separately), cameras can be remotely deployed using the ordinary single mode optical fiber network that may exist within any environment. This system allows the user to replace the fiber/copper hybrid cable between the camera and the CCU with standard fiber cable and relay all the communications and signals. This frees the camera from being tethered directly to the CCU via SMPTE 311 hybrid fiber cable.

The SHAXX-TOTE system is perfect for stadiums, arenas and concert halls that have preinstalled single mode fiber. The SHAXX-TOTE is enclosed in a robust and ruggedized custom black resin case, ideally suited for Outside Broadcast and large venue applications. Top panel LEDs give instant operational feedback of the link status between the camera and CCU.
